So it is a New Year and many of us have resolutions to up our blogging and social media. And then we sit down to blog( or update our facebook posts) and we stare at the computer and think “what can I blog about”?
Now first of all, blogging is an underutilized tool for many agents. Whether you are selling apartments in Dubai Marina,or villas in Cairo , you need to be blogging! Why? It helps with SEO, it allows you to share your expertise, it brings attention to you and your brand, and it really can help with SEO.
But for blogs to work, you must set time aside weekly to write quality blogs that provide something of value or interest to potential readers. While some people are natural born bloggers and can craft great stories, others struggle with it. So here are some topics that are customizable for all agents.
1. Top Ten Sales (Cairo, Beirut, Dubai, etc.)
People like looking at real estate. Even real estate they can’t afford. Top ten sales are fun to look at and actually interesting. These top lists can be tailored. Top ten most expensive homes. Top ten affordable homes. Top ten studios, etc. This could be done the last week of every month. And remember you can make them fun. Schedule them so people look forward them.
2. Popular questions
Now this isn’t something to do weekly- but a few times a year post the most popular questions you get and the answers. You can set these up in a FAQ format. You can be sure lots of people have the same questions. This is also a great way to market your expertise.
3. Top ten things to do in each neighborhood.
This is a great topic and great way to incorporate keywords into a blog. People moving to a neighborhood want to know what is there. And this is a great way to have fun. Top ten falafels in Achrafieh, top ten hidden gems in Zamalek, top ten brunch spots in Dubai. Make these fun, add photos and share them on social media. People will in turn share them with their friends. Make sure you add a link back to your website.
4. New Resident Guide
Similar to top ten guides but these can contain very useful information. These can be done at city and neighborhood level. New residents are often clueless about services (cable, electricity, phone). Don’t just give them phone numbers and a link but walk them through the process. If the process is painful, write about it a funny way. New residents also want to know where malls are, post offices, parks, public transportation, find out where IKEA is, know about the schools, etc.
